Superpowers for Reddit ("Superpowers", "we", "us") is a Chrome extension and a marketing website. This policy explains how the extension and website handle information when you use their features.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers (a) the Superpowers for Reddit Chrome extension and (b) the website at superpowersforreddit.com, including its privacy, terms, refund, about, and sitemap pages.
2. Information we collect and do not collect
We do not operate a service that routinely receives your Reddit feed, browsing activity, saved posts, or AI prompts as part of the extension's direct AI workflow. AI requests are sent from your browser to Google's Gemini API.
However, certain features communicate with third-party providers. Premium license validation may send license and device-activation information to our license service. Paddle processes payments and checkout information when you purchase premium functionality.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics pixels on the marketing website.
- We do not use Reddit content or AI prompts for purposes unrelated to providing the requested extension features.
3. What stays on your device
The extension may store the following information in Chrome extension storage:
- Settings, theme preference, language, and feature preferences.
- Reddit posts and comments you choose to save, including collections and folders.
- Feature-usage counts and focus-time statistics.
- Your Gemini API key, if you choose to provide one.
- Premium license information needed to activate paid features.
If Chrome Sync is enabled and the extension uses it for particular data, selected settings, saved collections, and usage information may sync across your Chrome devices. Chrome Sync is provided by Google. Data kept only in local extension storage is not automatically synced.
4. Reddit content and AI processing
When you use the extension on Reddit, it may read relevant content from the page you have opened, such as post titles, text, comments, and media references, to provide the feature you requested.
When you explicitly trigger an AI feature, the extension sends relevant information to Google's Gemini API using the Gemini API key you provide. Depending on the feature, this may include post text, comment context, images, or other information needed to answer your request. Superpowers does not proxy these AI requests through its own server.
5. Video explanation and frame analysis
When you use Explain Video, the extension captures selected timestamped frames from the video displayed on Reddit. It sends those captured frames as images, together with relevant post context such as the title, text, and comments, to Google's Gemini API for analysis.
The extension uses the captured frames and associated context to generate an explanation. This workflow sends selected frame images rather than uploading the entire video file as a video to Gemini. The information is processed by Google under its applicable terms and privacy policies.
Use this feature only with content you are comfortable submitting to an external AI provider. Avoid submitting sensitive or confidential information.
6. Premium licenses and payments
Paddle processes checkout and payment information when you purchase premium functionality. Payment details entered during checkout are handled by Paddle under its own terms and privacy policy. The extension does not ask you to enter your full payment card details into the extension itself.
The extension may contact our license-validation service to check whether a premium license is valid and to manage device activation. This request may include a license key, a device or activation identifier, and technical information needed to validate access.
Where configured, Supabase provides the license-validation backend. Paddle handles payments, while the license service verifies access to premium features. These services may process information under their respective terms and privacy policies.
7. Other third-party services
Depending on the features you use, the extension may communicate with the following services:
- Reddit, to access relevant content from pages you open.
- Google Gemini API, to process AI requests you initiate.
- Paddle, to process premium purchases and checkout.
- Supabase, where configured, to validate premium licenses and manage activations.
- Search engines and reference sources, where used by research or fact-checking features, to retrieve supporting information.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their independent data handling or retention practices.
8. This website
The marketing website stores a color-theme preference in your browser's localStorage. This preference is not an advertising cookie.
The website may be hosted by a third-party deployment provider. Hosting, DNS, and security infrastructure providers may process standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, user-agent information, and requested URLs, to operate and protect the website.
Any newsletter or subscription form is subject to the actual behavior of that form and its service providers. Do not submit personal information through a form unless its purpose and handling are explained.
9. Cookies
Superpowers does not use advertising cookies. The website's theme preference uses localStorage rather than a tracking cookie. Third-party services may use their own technologies on their respective websites.
10. Children's privacy
The product is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Your choices and data deletion
- Clear the extension's storage or uninstall the extension to remove locally stored extension data, subject to Chrome's storage behavior.
- Revoke your Gemini API key through Google AI Studio.
- Contact us for assistance with premium license deactivation or license-related requests.
- Review the privacy policies of Google, Paddle, and other third-party services you choose to use.
Third-party providers may retain information according to their own policies and applicable legal obligations.
12. Security
We take reasonable steps to limit the information processed by our services. However, no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your API key and license key private, and avoid sending sensitive information to external AI services.
13. Changes to this policy
If our features, service providers, or data practices change, we may update this policy. The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page.
